These Thomastik Dominant medium-gauge, synthetic-core strings are a great fit for a violin. The sound compares to strings made of natural gut, but these strings are much easier to handle. The strings are constructed with a ball end for convenience and easy changing. These durable strings only weigh in at 0.09 pound, making them quite thin and light.
