Reviews
'Overall this is an excellent resource for practitioners, densely packed with information yet clear and readable with ease of reference. It definitely fulfils the intention set out in the preface to be a 'clinician-orientated tool, useful in practice'. There are helpful analogies highlighted in the text, which can be lifted and used in other contexts, such as 'the itchy jumper' when discussing readiness for change. It also brings together research and demonstrates how to use it in practice and there is creative use of many tools such as graphs, logs and worksheets, all of which are set out in as a photocopy resource in the back of the book. It provides a wealth of information for those who do not have a lot of experience in eating disorders and is a Guide that is highly recommended and one which I will personally return to often.' Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy Review, 'Look no further; this cutting edge therapist guide is essential reading for all those working with eating disorders and will help from the point of referral to discharge. … I have found myself dipping into this book and using some of the CBT techniques in my own clinical practice and would highly recommend this book to all health professionals working with eating-disordered patients, including clinical psychologists, psychological therapists, CBT therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, counsellors and dieticians.' Psychological Medicine, 'Professor Waller and his team of highly specialist clinical psychologists and a specialist dietician have produced this excellent comprehensive guide of cognitive therapy (CBT) for treating a wide range of eating disorders, from relatively straightforward eating disorders to those with more complex presentations ... Look no further; this cutting edge therapist guide is essential reading for all those working with eating disorders and will help from the point of referral to discharge. ... I have found myself dipping into this book and using some of the CBT techniques in my own clinical practice and would highly recommend this book to all health professionals working with eating-disordered patients, including clinical psychologists, psychological therapists, CBT therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, counsellors and dieticians.' Psychological Medicine, "This truly is a comprehensive treatment guide. The authors go through the process step-by-step, staying true to the cognitive-behavioral tradition...Numerous tables and figures help to elucidate the material and brief case examples are also used in some chapters. The book successfully leads readers in an orderly fashion through the assessment and treatment phases of eating disorders, providing principles, not specific protocols." --Doody's Book Review Service, 'I was completely bowled over by this book: it is wonderful. A real treasure trove of clinical wisdom, embedded in the best of the available research evidence. Commendably, although this is a multi-author book, it is written with one voice. Written in a very accessible, straightforward language and immensely well structured, it contains information that will be very useful for both the novice and seasoned eating disorder therapist. … This book will become a classic. I highly recommend it.' Journal of Psychosomatic Research, 'Overall this is an excellent resource for practitioners, densely packed with information yet clear and readable with ease of reference. - 6***6 (76)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoThis delivery was earliest date! Condition, value, quality - all as described. (My mistake was not requiring the publishing date to be 1958. This was 1977.) This IS a Viking Portable Library copy of Dante's Divine Comedy in English, translated by Laurence Binyon, but it is with a cover DIFFERENT from what was shown. The tracking number was listed as from "UPS", but should have been listed as from "USPS." Contact with this seller alleviated tracking issues. I recommend this seller! Thank you!
