Synopsis
Maryland is "alive" with the dead--ghosts, haunted houses, and things that go bump in the day, as well as the night. This is a collection of twenty-five of the state's most fascinating accounts of the supernatural from the flatlands of the Eastern Shore to the mountains of western Maryland. You'll read ghost tales that are as varied as Maryland's topography. You'll meet characters like the infamous slave kidnapper, Patty Cannon, and the controversial Dr. Samuel Mudd.Whether or not you believe in ghosts, this little book will entertain, amuse, and (just maybe) raise a few goosebumps., Maryland is "alive" with the dead--ghosts, haunted houses, and things that go bump in the day, as well as the night. The author has traveled the entire state of Maryland collecting ghost stories; pored over old papers for clues in local county libraries; and interviewed many of the people whose recollections are recounted here. There seem to be no particular do's or don'ts for ghostly apparitions: houses are haunted, but so is a college campus, and, in one strange instance, a piece of furniture. People have had encounters with spirits, but so have dogs and cats on several occasions, and one unnerving apparition apparently felt it her duty to babysit, to the seeming delight of the child involved. The author, who grew up in Massachusetts, has lived in Maryland for eight years, is "wild" about her adopted state, and resides with her husband Dan and stepson Brendan in Sykesville. Book jacket.

- b***b (169)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoAfter two poor experiences with this seller, they exceeded my expectations with this order…hard to believe it was the same seller. The book purchased, identified in their listing as “Very Good”, was, in fact, “Like New”. The price was very fair. Shipping was slow, but that seems to be true with many things purchased in the internet. If I have a complaint, it is that the seller will not respond to specific questions about a listed item before the purchase..too many orders to do so! 🙁The Beginning or the End: How Hollywood―and America―Learned to Stop Worrying an (N° 387783000754)
- e***r (10)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoYou can’t always be sure when an item is listed “like new” but this seller delivered a book that is just that. I’m very pleased with the condition of the book and the pricing was excellent compared to other sellers online. It was packaged extremely well and arrived with no wrinkles or folded areas. I made a great purchase and I now look forward to purchasing additional items by this author from this seller. 10/10 satisfaction!
- 8***5 (236)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoI'm very impressed with this seller! I had an additional question about the book's condition, and a representative answered right away. The book arrived in great condition, and the quality of the book is even better than advertised. An excellent value and seller!
