I'm much more accustomed to the older Janome DC2015's (I have several dozen in our studio fleet). That said, the Janome 3160QDC is a fantastic machine and is probably the best new sewing machine in its price range.

However, I own two Janomes (one new and one pre-owned) having great experiences with these purchases. My daughter-in-law is getting more involved with sewing and crafting so I took the chance bought this for her birthday present in February. I have been using it to make sure everything is working perfectly before gifting her. This machine works great just like my others!!!
