An improvement on it actually because the dark age hurlbat was forged of pig iron, and this is a machined high carbon steel. It is still realistically heavy like an original though, and like the African hunga-munga weapon, it has so many points that it will stick in your target no matter how you throw it. Charlemagne would most certainly approve of his troops wielding this version of their original. Well done replica

Cons: the handles are a bit loose nothing too crazy but none the less I've narrowed this down to a manufacturing problem not this seller, it's something you have to open the package to feel and they were sealed shut. All in all 37$ for a decent machete.
