It's a must for any Karateka to read time and time again to understand the origins of Karate and its structure, and essential for the bookshelf of any serious martial artist - Steve Rowe 9th Dan Simon Keegan has a true passion when it comes to the martial arts. It is a special breed of man who lives the arts, rather than just doing them. He is without a doubt one of the true guardians of the history of the arts. They are in good hands - Alfie Lewis 9th Dan I was immediately impressed with the quality of Keegan's articles. So I knew his book would be a well-researched, well-documented, and enlightening text. It ties down many of the loose ends and nagging questions that have existed for many years - Jim Mather 9th Dan Simon is skilled in the history of quite a number of martial arts of Japan, China and other eastern arts. Author Simon Keegan is a 5th Dan black belt recognised by some of Japan's oldest and most venerable sanctioning bodies.
