Synopsis
Lim Cheng Hoe stands out from most of Singapore's first-generation artists in many regards. He grew up and was educated in Singapore, and is considered to be a self-taught artist in the watercolour tradition. This exhibition catalogue examines and compares Lim's work with Chinese ink artist Chen Chong Swee, and seeks to explore the man beyond his art through his diary entries. It also republishes essays from previous Lim Cheng Hoe exhibition catalogues which are now out of print, and serves as a comprehensive resource of research around this significant Singapore artist., Lim Cheng Hoe's ardour and discipline as a painter merge in his evocative portrayals of light and life in developing Singapore. This catalogue examines his contribution to the watercolour tradition and plein-air painting in Singapore, and republishes essays from previous exhibition catalogues which are now out of print, serving as a comprehensive repository of research around this significant Singapore artist.

- c***t (921)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoThe book I bought was reasonably priced and when it arrived it was in the 'Like New' condition specified in the listing. However, when I saw that the seller had not shipped the book after more than 15 days had passed since my order I felt I must write to say that I had actually placed an order with the seller and inquire when it planned to send the book. The brusque reply was that a tracking number was available, but no number HAD been created until I pointed out that I had placed the order.Catland by Hughes, Kathryn, Like New Used, Free shipping in the US (N° 356798982438)
