After reaching out to the seller, we believe it was likely due to it being an older piece of equipment that got jostled around a little too much during shipping. The sellers were very cordial and helped me to resolve this very quickly by issuing a refund after getting the vcr returned. Even though there were some issues, I would still by from them again. Thank you for your help!
