Seven studies document the suffering of children and youths from theological, ethical, historical, pedagogical, and church historical perspectives. German text. German description: Gewalttatigkeit in der Schweizerischen Heimerziehung vor 1960 war bestimmt durch die Geringschatzung von fremdplatzierten Kindern, die im Interesse der Gesellschaft diszipliniert werden sollten. In katholischen Einrichtungen waren dabei eine einseitig religios fixierte Padagogik, politisch-weltanschauliche Abgrenzungen, die Lebensbedingungen von Kongregationsschwestern und Geistlichen sowie ungenugende kirchliche und staatliche Kontrollen entscheidende Faktoren. Das Buch bietet einen Blick hinter die Mauern von Erziehungsanstalten im Kanton Luzern wahrend der Jahre 1930 bis 1960. In sieben Teilstudien aus pastoraltheologischer, ethischer, historischer, padagogischer und kirchengeschichtlicher Sicht bringt es das erfahrene Leid zur Sprache, fragt nach seinen Voraussetzungen und reflektiert das kunftige kirchliche Wirken in diesem Bereich.
