Synopsis
The allocation of limited public and private resources depends on reliable data and empirical analysis, and The Future of Philanthropy is filled with hard-to-find data, graphs, and charts, as well as full citation and source lists at the end of each chapter. It raises unsettling questions about the very assumptions upon which nonprofits are built and financed and about the future of nonprofit and philanthropic decision-making. Written to provoke thoughtful debate, as well as illuminate elusive objective data, this resource also sheds new light on the challenges that face the nation's "Third Sector" as public and governmental regulation has become more focused on the transparency and accountability of philanthropy and its recipients. Order your copy today!, This book speaks to the practice of philantrophy of tommorow, and the issues that will shape the philantrophic and nonprofit environment just over the horizon. Written as a series of short essays the busy manager or board memeber can tackle with limited time., Praise for The Future of Philanthropy "Social stability across the globe requires the mobilization of human and technological resources at levels far beyond the capacity and will of governments. As we all struggle with a new definition of social solidarity, smart philanthropy, emotionally energized philanthropy, and even entrepreneurial philanthropy is now more important than ever before. The private sector needs to continue to step up to the challenge in America, but also in other developed economies. Raymond's insights can help frame the discussion on how best to accomplish a new form of collaboration among public and private agents for social good in America, but perhaps also across the globe. America's embrace of neighbors banding together to help the less fortunate is not only a rich national heritage we need to sustain and strengthen, but perhaps, in cautious ways, export to other political economies." James A. Rice, PhD, President, International Health Summit Vice Chairman, The Governance Institute "Susan Raymond brings piercing insight and rigorous scrutiny to philanthropy the giving and the getting in its increasingly turbulent social and economic context. - e***n (390)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoGreat transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe
