Deadly Creatures is a Wii-exclusive action-adventure game that is played from the perspective of a small but deadly animal. In the role of either a well-armored scorpion or a sly, stealthy tarantula, players face a dangerous world of harsh desert conditions, oversized man-made hazards, and ferocious bug-on-bug battle. Using both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, players control their deadly creatures with a combination of gestures and onscreen pointing. In battle, good timing and combo attacks can gain an edge on most opponents. Level design is largely open, leading to exploration and platform challenges, and the tension of the wild unknown. When adversaries such as wasps, black widows, and hungry gila monsters could be lurking around any turn, the player's place in the food chain is regularly reestablished, with each fight-or-flight challenge reminding players that survival is the only victory that ever really matters.
