Product Information
'Spy in the Sky' matters have long been a source of interest and fascination for aircraft enthusiasts, historians and modellers and none more so than the elusive and secretive Soviet types of the Cold War era. Yefim Gordon presents us here with a range of such types, presenting a collection of photographs, profiles and line drawings together with supplementary text detailing the history of each craft, encompassing the various developmental milestones, successes and pitfalls experienced along the way. The Soviet Union's two dedicated spyplane types, the Yakovlev Yak-25RV 'Mandrake' (the Soviet equivalent of the Lockheed U-2) and the MiG-25R 'Foxbat' are profiled, supplemented by details garnered from a host of original sources. Well-illustrated histories and structural analyses are set alongside detailed descriptions of the various plastic scale model kits that have been released, along with commentary concerning their accuracy and available modifications and decals. With an unparalleled level of visual information - paint schemes, models, line drawings and photographs - it is simply the best reference for any model-maker setting out to build a variant of this iconic craft. AUTHOR: Yefim Gordon was born in 1950 in Vilnius, Lithuania. He has been researching Soviet and Russian aviation history for more than 40 years and has one of the world's largest photograph and document archives on the subject. He has also authored and co-authored well over 100 books on Soviet and Russian aviation which are published in seven countries. Dispatch of item was a little on the slower side, but it arrived safely and in good conditoon, so can overlook it to be fair. Seller replies quickly to messages and answers any questions well. Once it was dispatched it arrived quickly. Over all, happy with purchase and would buy from again.Sasaki and Miyano, Vol. 2 by Shou Harusono 9781975323295 NEW Free UK Delivery (N° 388040821045)
- 0***u (4398)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoThis book is new and is as described in the listing. A slow dispatch was not due to the seller as a third party was responsible for packaging and sending it. The item was eventually delivered by Royal Mail well within the period dates shown. Having purchased from this seller previously a feature of both purchases was the slow dispatch for which the seller is not responsible.
- o***o (281)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoCover shown on website didn’t match that of book sent. (I’d anticipated the lovely cover art as illustrated.) The book sent has disappointing cover artwork of later or earlier edition. My fault rather than a complaint. Should have contacted seller before ordering, as I did with previous Paul Gallico book I'd ordered from same seller, who were very helpful. (On that occasion I did get the book/cover I wanted.) Moral of the story: check with seller if this sort of thing is important to you.
