This three-disc set features the story of widowed writer Jessica Fletcher, played by actress Angela Lansbury, who constantly stumbles across murders which she then solves before the police can do so. This series follows a traditional mystery show formula, but the excitement of each episode comes from viewers investigating each crime alongside the main character. Angela Lansbury's groundbreaking performance as one of the first older female leads in an American TV series earned her nominations for no less than 12 Emmys, a role that viewers can enjoy once again in "Murder She Wrote - The Complete First Season". This three-disc set contains the pilot, along with all 21 episodes featured in the first year of the series. Many guest stars from Hollywood's classic era also make appearances in this mystery drama, including Milton Berle, Peter Graves, Jose Ferrer, and Martin Landau.
