Product Information
The third volume of what is proving to be a definitive history of aviation in north Wales and the northern Marches. Volume 3 sketches the essential background against of the air defence of the region, ranging from knee-jerk, panic reactions to the dropping of the first bombs to decoys and the establishment of radar early warning systems. The region was home to some fourteen Air Ministry Experimental Stations. The volume also provides details of the Saunders-Roe base at Beaumaris on the Menai Strait and the RAF station at Hawarden, alongside the Ministry of Aircraft Production factory at Broughton. The growing empathy with the air war is covered in chapters dealing with pilots, aircraft and air raids. The book is profusely illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams (many of which have never previously been published). Appendices provide details of many hundreds of air crashes. The final chapter covers 'The Forgotten Airforce', the Air Transport Auxiliery.

I seen other sellers use bubble wrap or even plastic wrap to ensure this didn't happen, so I hope the seller can change it or find some better form of protection for shipping books.
