You have to push it hard to get noticeable changes going through my Fender Priceton Reverb and if you push it hard you'll get an unpleasant sound. I'll probably use it mostly for cutting lows. It might do better on cheaper amps for shaping your sound, but overall like I said for what I paid for it didn't go wrong adding an extra eq pedal on my board.
