The back of the plate where it contacts the wall should be flat but it is not, it is curved perhaps due to a faulty manufacturing process. They will need to be heated/re-bent before use. Not such a problem if you are screwing them to the wall but if you are using just adhesive it's not ideal.

It arrived bowed like a banana and no amount of teasing would flatten it enough to attach to my wall. I'd have probably have had to drill holes and use screws to pull it flat. I did try heating it and putting it under clamps but to no avail. Useless.
