The tool was not able to remove the old cartridge. The whole diverter had to be removed and the cartridge carefully drilled out. Be careful not to damage the thread. After cleaning the new cartridge was fitted and the diverter works properly again. NB: Before removing the diverter note its orientation as it can be fitted wrong way round .
