The Nintendo 3DS XL boasts an exclusive screen size that is 90 percent larger than the previous console. This larger size means you'll see more of your games at all times. This advantage will help in a game like "The Legend of Zelda" as it lets you see attacks from all sides. Internally, the Nintendo 3DS XL shares the same hardware as the previous Nintendo 3DS consoles. Its primary feature is the internal 3D hardware. This feature lets you view games in 3D without needing any special glasses or accessories. The 3D feature is controlled by a slider, letting you adjust just how much you see at any time. Gamers with sensitive eyes can display it with this function turned off while gamers who want the full experience can turn it all the way up or adjust it as they see fit. The Nintendo 3DS XL also includes both a motion sensor and a gyro sensor. In specific games, this allows you to tilt the system to control the onscreen action. The analog pad will give you increased control over your onscreen character. The SD card lets you save your games while the stylus allows you to write notes. This handheld device has a vast library of titles. All of Nintendo's mascots have at least one game on the device, including Mario, Link, and Kirby. The majority of titles on the Nintendo 3DS XL are suitable for children, with ratings of either E or T. As a bonus, the Nintendo 3DS XL is also compatible with all DS titles. The Nintendo 3DS XL NES Edition is a special version of the system. While it has the same features as other systems, it sports a unique outer clamshell. The gray color of this clamshell is the same color used for the NES itself. On the top is a picture of an original NES controller. The clamshell is resistant to damage, meaning the picture won't scratch or chip. In addition, the clamshell will keep your screens safe from damage when transporting it. The larger screens are a boon while the clamshell evokes memories of classic Nintendo action.
