I have an out of the box new controller that I got with my n64 which I bought recently and they feel pretty close. the buttons on this one actually feel a little better than that one. The analog stick is a bit tighter in the new one's case, but for the price this is so close to an out of the box controller for a cheap enough price that it would be a good option to buy a full set for multiplayer.
