The stand is made of plastic, but there was no bubble wrap or any other effort made to prevent heart impacts on the bottom of the box. Weirdly, the second part of this order (the sax swab) was partitioned away from the stand in the same box, even though it was the only thing in the package that could have softened the blow for the stand. I am hoping that no stress fractures will develop in the stand, but otherwise, thanks for the price break!
