"Pac-Man Party" for the Nintendo Wii may present your favorite Namco characters. Instead of a top down arcade video game, Pac-Man and his friends are participating in a board game. In the main story mode, the evil ghosts are looking to steal Pac-Man's cookie formula. Only by winning on each game board can you save your precious cookie formula. "Pac-Man Party" was both developed and published by Namco Bandai Games. This title had a release date of 2010 for the Nintendo Wii.If you've played "Mario Party," then you can know what to expect from "Pac-Man Party." Gameplay can be simple, allowing even novices to learn the ropes quickly. On each of the five game boards, you and three other players will take turns moving around the map. Land on an empty space and you can place a castle on that map. Land on the castle again and gain cookies, which are this Wii game's currency. However, land on an opponent's castle and a battle will begin. These battles take the form of mini games. There are over 50 minigames to play in "Pac-Man Party," with each one having different goals. Each minigame can require quick reflexes and some strategy to win. If you win, you will take your opponent's castle. If you lose, you will lose a set amount of cookies. Determining a winner is based on the particular game board. Some games end when a set number of points is reached, and others end after a specific time limit.In addition to blank spaces, you can also land on a space that could change the course of the match. For example, the Tarot Tent space will give you riches beyond your imagination. Other spaces will take your cookies or transport you to a new location. Each match even features boss battles to overcome. In addition to the story, you can compete in multiplayer matches against your friends. Each of the boards from the story mode is available to play in multiplayer. Each board has a different theme. For example, one board may have a snowy theme while another is set in a desert. Each game you compete in will relate to the theme of the board in some way. Since every match of "Pac-Man Party" is different, the title can have a significant amount of replayability.There is also a mode that lets you compete in each minigame without playing on a board. Do well in a game to unlock stickers that appear on the main menu. You will also unlock classic Namco video games. These video games range from popular titles like "Pac-Man" and "Galaga" to more obscure titles like "Mappy." Each of these games can play just like they did in the arcade. There are over 50 retro titles total to unlock.This title is compatible with both the Wii and Wii U system. This Wii title is rated E by the ESRB. This rating ensures that this title is appropriate for gamers of all ages. The gameplay can be easy to master even for non gamers. The competitive nature of this title can have you playing for hours. Pac-Man for the Wii can have you and all the other players endlessly entertained.
