The oil is black & needs changed. This is replacing a 2 cycle Ryobi of 12 years. Ryobi 4 cycle is a definite step up over the 2 cycle. Power, fueling, easy starts & smooth running make the Ryobi RY4CSS 4 cycle trimmer a SOLID choice for me.

The value appears good although I need to use it a good season. I filled it up with oil. I put gas in the tank. It started on the first pull. It does smoke more than a previous type I owned.
