This will do exactly what it’s intended for. I suggest using this with dry wood. Tried splitting some wet wood. It was too difficult.

Been using a hatchet and a hammer to split wood into small starter pieces. It appeared to be well made. In fact, it was bigger than I had expected which was a plus. I believe you get what you pay for. And this is well worth the money. It feels heavy and durable. I cannot wait to get a nice size log to mount it to. Overall I would recommend.
