The winding handwheel is tight when in the decompression position, but turns easily once the point of noticeable air compression is reached. [SEE VIDEO] The overall appearance is excellent with some light patina on the components & some light wear on the decorative paint. There is a noticeable area on the base where a sticker was removed. The rubber diaphragm works well, but after over 100 years of usage & storage, it will not fully contract. Burst testing is completely doable in spite of this. [SEE PHOTOS]NOTE: We cannot guarantee accuracy with regard to the tests results for a system this old.”

Got here fast and was very well packed - it is exactly what I wanted and needed. The gasket is a little dried out, but that is to be expected. I don't recall that being said in the description, so that is the only reason I am deducting one star from the description rating. Shipping originally seemed a little high, but not after I saw how well packed it was.
