In a win-or-die-trying romp through America's happy days, Mafia II players vie for underworld ascendancy. Mafia II is set in Empire Bay, a fictional metropolis inspired primarily by New York and San Francisco in the '40s and '50s. Mafia II unearths a gritty universe and personal adventure through a cinematic experience. You play as Vito Scaletta, a character sucked into the world of the Mafia due to his father. Together with his best friend Joe Barbaro, you'll dive into the seedy underbelly of Empire Bay. This PS3 title was developed by 2K Czech and published by Take-Two Interactive. This title will take most gamers roughly 25 to 30 hours to fully complete. This PS3 game is rated M for Mature. Accompanying the strong, believable characters is the captivating and engaging gameplay. Here, you can enjoy near-absolute control of your character as Vito traverses the city. In Mafia II, your character can run, jump, swim, and climb across the entirety of Empire Bay. If you need to get to a location more quickly, you can hijack a vehicle. There are over 40 vehicles in this title to drive, each one with their own strengths and weaknesses. When driving the cars in this PlayStation 3 game, you can enjoy some of the classic music of the era licensed from real artists. These artists include The Everly Brothers, Little Richard, Bing Crosby, and Bo Diddley.Eventually, it's time to fight. In addition to Vito's fists, you also have access to a wide range of weaponry. Older weapons like the Colt 1911 reappear from the first title. New weapons for the era, like the MP-40, quickly turn fights into a bloodbath. Your character can duck behind cover, keeping you safe from enemy gunfire. You can also move between cover quickly and easily. The game provides plenty of cover at all times, ranging from wooden boxes and cars to walls and doors. However, your enemies can take cover as well, requiring the player to use clever tactics to win. If you die during a gunfight, the game's checkpoint system will revive you moments before the fight began. One of the biggest innovations in this PlayStation 3 game is the option to have multiple interactions in specific situations. For example, rather than just one canned animation for breaking into a car, you have two options available. You can silently pick the lock, which takes longer but hides your action from the authorities. You can also choose just to break the glass, which will get you into the car quicker but attract attention. You'll want to be as quiet as possible because the police are always keeping an eye on mob members. When you're caught breaking the law, the police will stop at nothing to throw you behind bars. Break enough laws, and they will attempt to kill you.This PS3 game garnered a vast amount of praise since its August 2010 release date. In particular, critics have praised the high-quality graphical engine powering the title. During a cutscene, your character will wear the same clothes you selected. Likewise, if there is any damage to your Mafia car, that is reflected as well. This PS3 game is also recognized for its high-quality facial models.     Overall positive experience with this seller! The conition of the DVDs was as described and they arrived faster than I expected. There was one promblem with a missing disc; I contacted the seller immediately and they kindly issued me a small refund to cover the missing disc, which I was very grateful for. Overall I'm happy with my purchase! I mean truthfully, I would have prefered the disc to the refund, but it already felt like a steal, so I wasn't too worried about it.

    The books arrived two days earlier than expected. While the packing materials included were kind of sparse, there was no overall damage to the books from transit. The items were exactly as described, or in "very good" condition. The only imperfections were labels on the back of each book (which will take a little time to peel off carefully). However, seeing as I got all three books at about two-thirds the cost (of full retail price) AND free shipping, I'd say I got a great deal. Thanks a bunch!
