During shipment, someone had grabbed it by a corner and tugged the corner open and yes, it was soiled as a result. the listing described it as "cotton". I wanted cotton. That is the reason I ordered it. It is acrylic yarn which has little appeal to me; the recipient will probably have skin rashes.
