Synopsis
Now emerging as a world power - both in terms of its economy and its military prowess - the development of Chinese military aviation has, until recently, been shrouded in mystery. Originally, China closely allied itself with the Soviet Union, its Communist neighbour, and its developing aircraft industry was closely modelled on Soviet aircraft. However, by the 1960s the two countries were at odds and as China was still also isolated from the West, the Chinese aircraft industry was forced to follow its own path and develop its own unique aircraft designs. Although more recently China has had more open relations with the West, and has imported some designs from the USA and Europe, its military aircraft production remains a large, potent and unique industry that is largely unknown in the West.Very little has been published in the past on the subject because of the difficulty of obtaining information but aviation author Andreas Rupprecht have been researching this subject for a number of years, both from the perspective of interest in the Chinese aircraft and also through an interest in Chinese secret aviation projects. Dragon's Wings describes Chinese fighter and bomber aircraft development since Mao's Communist Party took control of the country in 1949. The author examines in detail the design and development of the country's major military combat aircraft (fighters, bombers, attack aircraft, anti-submarine) since the industry became established after World War 2, plus a good number of design proposals which, for whatever reason, were rejected or abandoned., As China continues its rise as a world power, there is growing interest in its military aviation. Very little has been published in the past on the subject because of the difficulty of obtaining information, but aviation authors Tony Buttler and Andreas Rupprecht have been researching this subject together for a number of years, both from the perspective of their interest in the Chinese aircraft and also through an interest in Chinese secret aviation projects. They have now amassed enough material to put together a book on Chinese fighter and bomber aircraft development since Mao's Communist Party took control of the country in 1949. The book examines the design and development of the country's major military combat aircraft (fighters, bombers, attack aircraft, antisubmarine) since the industry became established after the Second World War, plus a good number of design proposals which, for whatever reason, were rejected or abandoned. The text is supplemented with photographs, line drawings, and color artwork of the aircraft., This compelling book provides a revealing look at the development of Chinese military aviation, covering fighter and bomber aircraft development since 1949.

- j***2 (60)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificato☆☆☆ Seller. Is not the picture of actual recieved item. Listing photo was pulled from internet and used as placeholder, according to sellers listing. Thats on me for buying the cheapest one without looking at listing fully. Would have been better to not use another persons photo on seller's listing as the specific guide book advertised has reflective bits, the one i recieved did not.. At least it arrived and is decent enough to use and look at. Packed ok. Shipped promptly. Thank you.
- k***i (34)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoFantastic price, faster shipping than expected, item as described. However, packaging was a thin plastic envelope instead of bubble/ cardboard. Book arrived new yet slightly damaged. Not worth asking for a return due to the very low price, yet would suggest to seller/ future buyers to have better packaging for shipping. Thanks.
- e***u (4489)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoWell the stock photo was just that, a stock photo and the item did not include the other material shown, which I had asked about. A chance you take. Otherwise, in good shape, shipped promptly, plastic bag envelope (nothing wrong with that for the price, but subject to beatings by the PO dolts. Yes, i will still buy from them if the price is reasonable.
