I fixed the dent so the power button moves freely (took a chance and gently squeezed the hole back to oval with needlenose), but it's a daunting bit of work disassembling mobo from kb so I'll hold off awhile. I don't think it will fix the issue if the driver chip for kb on mobo is bad anyway. That's how it went on my older 17" lappie.
