I am confident that it works as I test everything before I sell it. Just remember that it is solar powered and if light is hitting it at time of checking it, it will stay off. You may want to turn down the lights or simply place your hand over the solar panel and see that it lights up. I say this because I had to do this too before realizing I was checking it under a light. LOL!
