I thought I could dim the red light as well as the white light. But I can only dim the white light. The description seemed to advertise the low, medium as applying to all colors. You only can adjust the brightness of the white light. Though I guess having a light that is bright enough is better than a light that is too dim. However, I would not consider this a good light for astronomy uses.
