The neck is already glued in, but that finished-looking wood is just a sealer coat, very rough under the fingers and needing sanding then additional clear.

A few little cosmetic things, fret ends could use a bit of work, etc. The strings it came with don't seem very good, especially the G string - it sounded punky. I replaced them with a lighter set from GHS through Eastwood Guitars. NOW, it sounds pretty good! I don't play up the neck much, so I can't vouch for the intonation. The tuner pegs seemed to have a bit of play when I changed the strings, but tension should take care of that. Time will tell. Happy so far!

The strings also need replacing, and I replaced the the weak pickup with a Telecaster sized narrow humbucker. The neck, fretboard, and body were decent. The bridge was a little loose and benefited from shims. The pickguard, knobs, and jack are good. I think the electric "Mandocaster" was a good buy, at least for me.

This kit is exactly as listed, described and pictured in their listing. Pretty well finished for "unfinished" parts, too. A fine eBay seller, with good communications and lots of quality stuff!
