The Intracoastal Waterway Chartbook is a complete set of navigation charts for the 1,090-mile Intracoastal Waterway from Norfolk to Miami, as well as charts for all major Atlantic inlets. A boater would have to spend more than 350 dollars to purchase the same coverage in government charts and publications. The chartbook also includes a complete listing of waterway bridge and lock characteristics, anchorage listings, a waterway facilities listing, pilotage notes, mileage charts, and charts for a picturesque alternate route, all in a compact, easy-to-use format. The Chartbook is a compelling value, offering full coverage of the ICW at a much lower price than its competitors and in a convenient trip-map style - as in the AAA trip maps - wherein the bottom of one map page slightly overlaps the top of the one following. The long, skinny ICW lends itself to this treatment, but this is the only chartbook to take advantage of that geography to create a uniquely useful package - one that can be held in one hand or propped in front of the steering station. Statute miles are noted in five-mile increments in the chart margins, along with bridge, lock, and anchorage locations, and the charts, An extraordinary value at the price, this compact, easy-to-use reference offers boaters a complete set of full-color navigation charts for the 1,090-mile Intracoastal Waterway, running from Norfolk to Miami, as well as charts for all the major Atlantic inlets en route. This edition has been fully updated through late 2001 and now features a larger size to allow chart segments to be presented at the same scale as the original NOAA charts from which they are reproduced.
