Nippon Ichi's long-running demonic strategy series returns with more oddball humor, more curry dishes, a new antagonist, and a new hero named Killia. The demon emperor Void Dark has been using his army, known as the Lost, to take over various Netherworlds, and gamers take control of Killia as he attempts to turn other demons and Overlords into allies. The in-game action takes on a pattern familiar to fans of the franchise, with players identifying events, heading to their base to organize equipment and items, and then joining their party for strategic battles on grid-based maps.<br><br>The franchise is known for its depth in strategy and combat, and Alliance of Vengeance is no different. In combat, characters can unleash special individual skills, they can join forces with nearby party members to produce more powerful team attacks, and they can once again use the lift/throw mechanic to launch friends or foes into or out of danger. Each race and job class produces a special effect (known as an Evility), monster units can use the Magichange system to transform into weapons that can be wielded by humans, and certain main characters can unlock special Alliance Skills when they are next to each other. Extra levels are located inside items and characters, and the new Research Squad system lets gamers send a group of units who aren't in battle off to other Netherworlds to research and gain new items.<br><br>This bundle comes in a collectible box and includes the full game, a 32-page art book, an original soundtrack CD, and a reversible game cover.
