Synopsis
Tell us all about your planet said mars well i said it is round like an orange or a ball and it is all cluttered up with automobiles and politicians it doesn't know where it is going nor why but it is in a hurry it is in charge of a two legged animal called man who is genuinely puzzled as to whether his grandfather was a god or a monkey…, archy and mehitabel is a collection of humorous verses by Don Marquis, originally published from 1916 onwards in Marquis's newspaper columns 'The Sun Dial' in the New York Evening Sun and 'The Lantern' in the New York Herald Tribune and first published in book form in 1927. The stories centre on Archy, a philosopher cockroach who types messages to the author in lowercase letters (he is unable to use the typewriter's shift key), and Mehitabel, a free-spirited alley-cat whose motto is 'Toujours gai.' archy and mehitabel contains free-verse poems on a variety of Archy's concerns, such as the transmigration of souls, social injustice, life in New York City, and death. Archy claims to have been a poet in another existence. Mehitabel claims to be a reincarnation of Cleopatra, but now her wild adventures result only in litters of kittens. The book has become a cult classic over the years and has never been out of print. Galileo is delighted to publish this facsimile of a 1946 edition.

- e***n (390)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoGreat transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe
