Reviews
"An expansive exploration of one of the most important and well-preserved colonial forts in the French pays d'en haute (upper country), the long existence of which spanned French, British, and American struggles over an Indigenous homeland. This book contextualizes the material legacies of the fort and nearby Indigenous villages, brilliantly juxtaposing studies of material belongings with historical documents, tribal history, museum collections, and its impressive living history festival, the Feast of the Hunter's Moon." -- Douglas C. Wilson , Adjunct Associate Professor of Anthropology, Portland State University, "Ouiatenon was an important site of cultural interaction between the Wea, French, and British. This volume brings decades of historical and archaeological research and public interpretation of the site together. It will appeal to archaeologists, historians, and heritage management professionals interested in eighteenth-century colonial encounters, economic exchange, and military activities in midwestern North America. It is wonderful to see the story of this important site widely shared." -- Lynn L. M. Evans , Curator of Archaeology, Mackinac State Historic Parks, "An expansive exploration of one of the most important and well-preserved colonial forts in the French pays d'en haut (upper country), the long existence of which spanned French, British, and American struggles over an Indigenous homeland. - e***n (390)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoGreat transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe
