I bought it for my mom's medication that she would be transporting with her on a plane trip. From all accounts it worked perfectly. I used some of the cardboard and the ice packs that the medication was originally shipped in and it worked perfectly. The ice was still frozen and the medication was cold after about 8 hours. I'm sure that it would work for lunch as well.
