CRTs can get damaged in shipping, and it didn't come in a box but didn't really need to, as it was essentially a man and van service so avoids getting tossed around during shipping. No problems and would recommended. Despite being a Trinitron it's definitely dimmer than my other displays, so tube is a little worn, but it's a nice set and is perhaps expected (set released in 1998, so not a super late model CRT).
