It is too small to be capable of retaining heat for the requisite 10 minutes. I have given it 4 stars because hot flannels are less easy to use. I have ordered a regular heated beanbag pad to lie over the top of this eye mask in the hope that it will retain its heat for longer. My optician said that bacteria is microwaved out so not to worry that you can't wash them.
