Their families include: Julia's husband Joel (Sam Jaeger), and their children Haddie (Sarah Ramos) and Max (Max Burkholder), who has Asperger's syndrome, Sarah's independent daughter Amber (Mae Whitman), and Crosby's girlfriend, Jasmine (Joy Bryant), who is the mother of Crosby's son, Jabbar (Tyree Brown). Throughout the show's six seasons, the Bravermans and their adopted family deal with new relationships, upstart businesses, affairs and other unforseen difficulties and surprises along the way.
