The extra wide sizing allowed for the addition of all day working insoles and thicker socks for great comfort. For some reason the laces were 48 inches, that is too long for these shoes, so I had to purchase some laces the right size for two dollars. No big deal. These shoes will last a very long time. It seems the high shipping cost is to offset some of the quite low price.
