The printer prints in 4800-optimized dpi or optional six-ink color to bring photos to life and preserve them without fading for years to come. The DeskJet 5650 automatically selects paper quality to print the best possible copy of each picture and HP software interacts seamlessly with the printer to bring photos to life. HP photo and imaging programs give users options to format pictures for brochures, collages, and other printed photo materials. Additionally, HP PhotoREt III color layering technology delivers quality color at fast printing speeds for ease of photo printing. Users can print up to 15 color pages per minute and 21 black and white pages to make the most of their time and prepare projects for sharing. Photos can print in less than a minute, depending on settings and border selection. The printer can work from the main and backup ink cartridges to print faster or slower, depending on the user-selected print settings. This printer is compatible with both Windows computers and Macs and works with operating Windows 98 and Mac OS 8 or higher. Users can install printer drivers via an included CD or through an Internet download.
