But the white is too white for our switches and if the plastering is not flat around the switch the surround will not sit flat against the wall. Service from seller was excellent.

The plate is non adhesive so will need to loosen the switch, place behind then tighten back up. I didn't need to disconnect any wires but Do make sure you have turned off power at the fuse box. Also to note, many switches have short fixing screws so may not be practical. Mine thankfully were long enough but may be worth checking yours first.
