I've tried pi zero and pi3, eventually changing the options.txt i got the display to work but buttons don't work. The c64 just hangs when load"$",8 . I've decided to go back to using sd2iec as, apart from fastload cartridges and some games it just works. Others may have better luck. All the options you need to set in options.txt are in the listing. The pi1541 works with the Pi3 but not the Pi0. Check that you have a decent power supply cable and 5V power supply for the Pi as I've seen issues before with hanging if the Pi does not get 5V due to low quality cables
