The Intel Xeon BX80614E5620 LGA1366 is a 2.4GHz 12MB cache quad-core processor belonging to the Westmere-EP CPUs that also include the designs for the first generation of the Intel Core processors. With a higher core number, 12MB memory cache, eight threads, and excellent performance at its price range, Intel Xeon BX80614E5620 LGA1366 2.4GHz model processors are a popular CPU choice for gamers and users who require advanced multi-core processor speeds, even if it does not have support for increasing its clock speed. Since E5620 processors lack integrated graphic processing units (GPU), users who want a higher image quality have to use a graphics card. The Xeon CPU series from Intel, including the E5620 CPUs, support the z87 and X99 socket chipsets, and the C600 series of chipsets for dual-socket processor types. E5620 model processors have a rating of 5.0 price performance per watt, which means they have a nearly identical power rating compared to the quad-core i7 3770k model CPUs. The Intel Xeon BX80614E5620 LGA1366 2.4GHz processor has four cores and eight threads, a 12MB cache, a 5.86 GT/s QPI bus speed, two QPI links, and a thermal design power of 80w. This CPU and its cores also have an ECC memory support feature with an integrated memory controller for three memory channels that support DDR3 800/1066 RAM types. It has a maximum memory bandwidth of 25.6GB/s. Depending on the memory type, its multiple cores allow it to have a maximum memory size of 288GB and 40-bit physical address extension capabilities. The Intel Xeon E5620 2.4GHz CPU also comes with Intel’s Virtualization Technology, or VT-X system, which allows the user to maximize the full capabilities of the server or desktop systems by consolidating multiple computing environments. This comes as a result of Intel Xeon E5620 CPUs increased manageability and security in IT environments. The Intel Xeon E5620 2.4GHz CPUs VT-X works in combination with software-based virtualization solutions. With the VT-X, E5620 2.4GHz CPUs become more resilient in the event of computer crashes. Apart from a stable hardware setup, the Intel Xeon E5620 quad-core 2.4 GHz CPU has the Trusted Execution Technology system, which is a hardware-based security feature that protects the CPU from attacks of malicious software and protects the confidentiality and the integrity of the information that users store or have created on the computer. This feature of the E5630 processor does this by designating an application execution environment for each software and separate from other software in the system. With an encapsulated software structure, the data, information, and other vital system processes are immune to attacks from malicious software that is running on the platform. Among the other features of the Intel Xeon E5620 2.4GHz CPU include its 64-bit computing for a workstation, server, desktop, and mobile devices, which works along with a supporting software, the Intel Turbo Boost Technology, and the EDB. Intel’s 64-bit architecture allows the system to address more than the 4GB of cache memory, thereby enhancing the computer’s performance. On the other hand, the Turbo Boost Technology manages the CPUs operating power, specifications, and specification limits. If the CPU happens to be running below the specification limits, the Turbo Boost Technology automatically pushes and accelerates it to the maximum speed and capabilities of the processor.
