When it comes to family vacations, rarely are they as memorable or outlandishly wild as "National Lampoon's Vacation", the 1983 comedy starring Chevy Chase and written by John Hughes. As the head of the Griswald family, salesman Clark decides that his two kids and wife should take a cross-country trip to a popular Los Angeles amusement park named Wally World. To spend more quality time bonding with his family, he chooses to travel by car instead of flying, despite his wife's wishes. Along the way they encounter one hilarious mishap after another until reaching their final destination and an unexpected surprise. This VHS formatted movie marks the first in a series of comedic films centering around the Griswald's vacations.
