In 1831, Alexis de Tocqueville and his friend Gustave de Beaumont visited the United States. From Tocqueville's copious notes of what he had seen and heard came the classic text De la Démocratie en Amérique, first published in two large volumes, one in 1835, the second in 1840.     Seller dispatched in approx 24hr. Book as described & all arrived fine as it was perfectly packaged for an international trip from the US to me in the UK. Padded envelope with thick cardboard spacer to keep the paperback straight and the book was snuggly wrapped in a plastic sheet to keep corners tight & unbumped. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and I wish all sellers shipped books like this. It makes me so happy when sellers pay attention to details - nothing excessive, just perfect. Book even smelt nice :)
