Not, I believe a fault of the supplier but quite possibly transit damage - hard to say when. I immediately contacted the seller who quickly sent a replacement item without any problem. OK, I had to wait a further few days but such good service is hard to find and should be cherished. The lamp is now installed and looks great.

Pleased with the lamp overall, it looks good, is a good height and it gives off a good light, shame there aren't matching side lamps to go with it. The only gripe was that according to the order it was due 2 days after ordering, however ithere was no tracking information. When i contacted the seller i found it hadn't even been despatched. It was despatched a week after the initial order.
