Reviews
"Attentive, sure-footed, possessed of an engaging voice and best of all, a spirit of generosity, Creston Lea's Wild Punch is an exciting new find for any serious reader of short stories."-- Rick Bass"Creston Lea can write one hell of a story. Wild Punch is a book of wonderful awful scary marvelous stories -- I kept expecting to hit the wall, to be overwhelmed with depression at the intractable fates he chronicles, but somehow, magically, he kept me reading through and out the other side of grim right into stubborn awe. I'm giving copies of Wild Punch to everyone I know."-- Dorothy Allison"Lea is a new voice for the rural North Country in the tradition of Howard Frank Mosher, Russell Banks and Annie Proulx. His prose crackles with insight. He'll make you laugh and he'll make you cry, and if you're that North Country person he'll make you understand yourself a little better."-- Ernest Hebert

Synopsis
Fiction. These debut stories, set in northern New England, portray the revelatory moments of small-timers, clergymen, hotheads, day laborers, motorcycle racers, loggers, horse farmers, and young veterans of the Gulf War. In WILD PUNCH, Creston Lea achieves the rare congruence of language and landscape. Creston Lea's writing is realistic and understated. His style can be compared to writers like Raymond Carver and Tobias Wolff. He is as much a master of local grit as he is of local color. Lea is an author who clearly loves his characters. He understands their contradictions and their stark daily realities, and he writes about them with an authority based on authenticity, generosity, grace, and sharply observed humanity., "Mr. Lea can write one hell of a story . . . wonderful awful scary marvelous stories--I kept expecting to hit the wall, to be overwhelmed with depression at the intractable fates he chronicles, but somehow, magically, he kept me reading through and out the other side of grim right into stubborn awe. This item was exactly as described, and the seller sent it carefully packaged to ensure it arrived in exactly the condition listed. It was shipped promply, and it arrived in great shape, and was a fantastic value, and I would absolutely buy from this seller again. The appearance was just like I expected, and it was fantastic. 5 Stars across the board.

Loaned this book out to a friend many years ago and was never returned to me, glad to have a copy again! Fred's Relics came through for me with flying colors. Loved the price and arrived in condition as described and in a timely manner. Also glad to see this seller reuse packing materials already on hand rather than unnecessarily spend money on "new" packaging. Would definitely recommend buying from Fred's Relics!

Buyer beware! I bought a tpb from this seller that was listed as brand new at an amazing price with free shipping so I was stoked! Then the item arrived..As a collector, condition means a lot esp when I’m sold brand new. For a collectable, this was the worst packaging I’ve come across in awhile. The entire book was bent, forming a U shape. Besides that, the front and back cover are creased in several places. Asked for a return and sent photos, got offered a dollar refund instead. Thanks for sharing your experience. Your book was shipped in protective cardboard, in the condition described in the listing. As you said in your request, you were not able to provide images that showed any damage. The images you later shared in the feedback were not provided in the refund request and may be a result of damage after receipt. That all said, YOU RECEIVED A FULL REFUND. Not sure why you are so upset but I wish you the best in your future eBay experiences. Have a great day!
