Synopsis
Winner of the Pritzker Prize for Military History A New York Times Notable Book From one of our finest military historians, a monumental work that shows us at once the truly global reach of World War II and its deeply personal consequences. For thirty-five years, Max Hastings has researched and written about different aspects of the war. Now, for the first time, he gives us a magnificent, single-volume history of the entire conflict. Through his strikingly detailed stories of everyday people--of soldiers, sailors and airmen; British housewives and Indian peasants; SS killers and the citizens of Leningrad--Hastings provides a singularly intimate portrait of the world at war. Remarkably informed and wide-ranging, Inferno is both elegantly written and cogently argued. Above all, it is a new and essential understanding of one of the greatest and bloodiest events of the twentieth century.

- e***h (108)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoThe books shipped fast and arrived in great condition. The packaging was very nice and neat, and easy to get into. The books were well insulated by the stuffing of the package (packing paper rolled up along the insides.) The books were just as described and pictured, so no problems there. I definitely got my money's worth on this order for sure & would definitely order from this seller again. I'll be keeping them in mind the next time I need such an old specialty book (awesome to get it bundled)
- i***c (42)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoThough I haven't had a chance to look through all the volumes that came in this order, they appear to be in excellent condition and look very good. I'm really pleased that the seller (Tom the Book Guy) got my shipment in the mail promptly and sent the box by Ground Advantage so they arrived in only two days. I'm also pleased that these books were priced so reasonably. They are all high-quality academic books and I'm sure I will enjoy them in the weeks ahead. Thanks for such a smooth transaction!
