Great Britain's Hammer Studios was responsible for singlehandedly transforming the horror genre into the more graphic mode that it is today with its Frankenstein and Dracula films. Beginning in 1957 with THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, the studio made a profitable move toward fantasy, horror, and sci-fi that brought it to an international audience and created a seminal trend in moviemaking.
